Perched on a Marin hillside, this 1910s bungalow had charm, but after a renovation 20 years prior, our client was ready for change. The vision? A blend of the modern and eclectic that paid homage to the home's bungalow roots.

Understanding the unique hillside setting and the home’s history, we started the project with a re-design of the first floor. It was important for us to both respect the original architecture and accommodate the client’s evolving tastes. Rooms including the living room, dining room, sitting room, powder room, and kitchen saw significant renovations. We integrated some of the client’s cherished antiques alongside new furnishings and artwork, creating a seamless fusion of eras.

The kitchen also underwent a big transformation with a fresh coat of paint on the cabinets, resilient limestone flooring, and contemporary fixtures. Meanwhile, the powder room now elegantly combines classic fixtures with muted chinoiserie wallpaper and unembellished linen drapery, capturing the client's vision perfectly.
