Crocker Highlands Traditional, Oakland
Our redesign journey for this traditional 1930s Crocker Highland home started with transforming the daughter's childhood bedroom into a welcoming guest suite. With the backdrop of a house that echoes strong New England roots, our challenge was to blend the new with the old. We incorporated some of the room's existing pieces, like the antique love seat which we reupholstered for the sitting area and added a custom chair and ottoman. An adjoining bath was updated by pairing original fixtures with new flooring, paint, and accessories.
Handpicking a few additional antique finds, our goal was to harmonize them with the homeowner’s existing collection.
The renovation of the entry-level powder room centered around the captivating trompe l’oeil wall mural. This feature created a dreamy backdrop, seamlessly connecting the indoor space with the natural view outside.
We introduced a reclaimed terracotta floor in a herringbone layout, reminiscent of the original terracotta flooring in the breezeway. Traditional fixtures with brass and bronze accents were chosen to fit the home's established style. We finally completed the space with a beveled mirror framed in faux bamboo, featuring both antiqued gold and matte iron details.
