Noe Valley Victorian, San Francisco
Inspired by frequent trips to London, our client wanted to bring a sense of British decorative tradition to the second-floor update of her Queen Anne Victorian home—layered, storied, and refined—while moving away from the more academic feel of her longtime home office. The goal was to soften and modernize the space without losing its depth, balancing practicality and character.
In the office, custom cabinetry in muted sage replaced outdated built-ins, seamlessly integrating storage and electrical wiring while adding warmth and structure. A Deco-inspired desk, paired with an upholstered armchair in a Jasper floral, creates a workspace that feels polished yet inviting. A handwoven Elizabeth Eakins rug grounds the room, while window treatments in a linen wool mix bring in softness and light.
In the master bedroom, a mural wallpaper becomes the foundation of the design, tying together the color palette of the second floor. Its organic pattern adds depth and softness, bridging the home’s historic character with the more modern lines of the existing bed. Deco-inspired nightstands clad in vellum with rich wood detail offer contrast, while layers of textiles in earthy neutrals bring warmth and cohesion.
We refined what no longer fit and elevated what remained. As a result, our client’s home feels effortlessly curated—rooted in tradition yet refreshed with a thoughtful, distinctly personal touch.
