Lakeshore Guest Cottage, Oakland
As our clients anticipated the arrival of their first baby, they envisioned a comfortable and welcoming space for their extended family in an old cottage on their property. Built in 1910, the cottage had good bones but was in great need of restoration.
The goal? To breathe life into this aging structure while also respecting its traditional detailing. Through a mix of color, pattern, and texture, we infused a refreshing yet classic style. Our renovation included everything from updating the finishes and flooring to introducing new millwork and hardware. One significant transformation was turning the existing powder room into a full bath.
Facing the challenge of the cottage's limited space, our design prioritized optimization. With custom-built cabinetry, revamped closet systems, and furnishings, we ensured that every inch was both beautiful and functional, ready to host the family's loved ones.
